Monday, May 25th 2020: Fourth Week of May Reading Vlog

If you didn’t see it, this month I started doing a reading “vlog”, a post where I basically put on small updates about reading and such, just like a reading vlog, just written instead 😄

I hope you’ll enjoy! 🤞

This is so cute !!

10:00 AM • Good morning beautiful people! 😍 I woke up about two hours ago, had tea 🍵 and a chocolate croissant 🥐 for breakfast, had a shower and now I’m reading a little in I Believe In a Thing Called Love by Maurene Goo, which I’m about halfway through and it’s super cute! 🥺🤩

1:45 PM • I’ve finished my classes for the day and now I’m eating Welsh rarebit for lunch 😋

2:30 PM • I haven’t been reading since I last updated you (oops 😝) but I’ve been watching an episode of the tv-show called Mapp & Lucia (1985) and it was really funny! 🤣

5:00 PM • I just took another shower to feel a little more clean and now I’ll continue reading in I Believe In a Thing Called Love 😍

Get your popcorn ready 😍🍿

6:30 PM • Finished dinner and because the film Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears came in the mail today, I’ll watch it tonight with some popcorn 😄 I really enjoyed the tv-series and the one book I read, so I’m looking forward to watching it! 👀

8:20 PM • The film was as superb as I’d hoped for! 😍 The plot was good, the characters great as ever and the tension between

the main characters 👌 The wit of Phryne Fisher is great as ever, and the team did an amazing job getting the series onto cinema screens! The actors and actresses did an awesome job and I loved all the details of Shirin’s makeup, outfits etc. 🙌 The only thing that made me sad, was how little Hugh, Dot, Cecil and Bert were on screen, however we can’t get everything in one movie, now can we? Sorry, this was super not book related but yeah… these vlogs do tend getting more life and less book related 😂 Please excuse me for that 😅 If you’ve seen the movie, let me know what you thought about it! ❤️

9:51 PM • I hope all of you are enjoying your evening ☺️ I’ve been reading a little in (you wouldn’t guess it 😉) I Believe In a Thing Called Love and CAN I TELL YOU ENOUGH TIMES HOW ADORABLE IT IS 😍 IT IS SO CUTE AND YOU NEEEEEEEEED TO READ IT!!! Did I convince you now? 😌 I probs won’t be doing that much for the rest of the night except for reading, so I’ll update you again tomorrow! Have a great night and sleep tight! 🌙🌅

Tuesday, May 19th 2020

6:30 AM • Just woke up, going to prepare for school and perhaps read a little of I’ve got time! I hope you all have a great start to your Tuesday 😉🌱

Grease (film) - Wikipedia
Grease is one of the best films ever and if you haven’t watched it – go do it now!

7:45 AM • My classes will be starting at 8:00 AM, so I’m checking in with a super, super short reading update before leaving you! I’ve been reading a few pages here and there this morning in I Believe In a Thing Called Love and I’m now a good way into it 🥰 It’s cute so far and I’m loving the story! Every time something happens I’m like that song in Grease called Summer Nights! I’m being like 🎶Tell me more, tell me more, Was it love at first sight? Tell me more, tell me more, Did she put up a fight?🎶

1:00 PM • I have the rest of the day off and I haven’t been reading that much because schooool, but I have been reading a tiny bit in Little Women between classes and so, and I’m really in love with all of the characters! 😍

2:30 PM • Lunch eaten ✅ Tea brewed TV-show running ✅ Right now I’m enjoying some ginger tea while watching episode two of Mapp & Lucia (1985) and Geraldine McEwan is THE BEST! I’m thinking about reading the book series sometime which is written by E. F. Benson, because my mother owns the books, so I don’t really have any excuse for not reading them 🤣 except, of course, for my really big TBR… but that’s a story for another day 🤫🤫🤫

6:00 PM • I haven’t been updating you much today, sorry ’bout that 🤦 however, I haven’t been reading that much, so that’s probably why… I finished eating dinner just now and then I’ll take a quick shower before sitting down to relax and watch a film! Can anyone guess what I’ll be watching by giving you these emojis: ⛔🏝️💎 (hint: it’s an animated film)

Answer: Atlantis – The Lost Empire [2001]

8:00 PM • Really enjoyed rewatching this super fun film! I don’t think I’ll have much to do for the rest of the evening, but I’ll hopefully 🤞 be reading a little tonight!

9:30 PM • Reading? Who’s she? 😂 In other words, I haven’t been reading this evening! But I will before going to bed! 😂

Wednesday, May 20th 2020

8:00 AM • I haven’t been reading yet today 😬 but I will hopefully get some reading done through the day! See you when my classes are over! 🧡✨

Grabbing a quick Croque monsieur for lunch! 😍

1:10 PM • Popping in with a small reading update before hurrying on! I’ve been reading a little in I Believe in a Thing Called Love and read some chapters in Little Women through the day and since I have the rest of the day off, now I’m going to eat lunch and then be meeting my cousin, so I’ll update you later! ✨

5:30 PM • Baking a cake now! 👩‍🍳🍰 While dancing to some 90s pop and feeling really cool 😂 It’s quite embarrassing how I’m dancing and lip-syncing right now, but luckily no one is watching 🙈

Chocolate cake in the progress 🍫
Finished product 😋

7:00 PM • What have I been up to since I last updated you? Eaten dinner ✅ Eaten cake with whipped cream ✅ Not been reading ✅ oops 😂 Now I’m going to watch Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets because, as I’ve told you before – procrastination is the key 😅

10:21 PM • How did the evening go by the fast??! 😂 I haven’t been doing that much, just watching HP 2 and deleting photos on my phone because it’s out of control (over 1,000 photos) but I haven’t been productive nor reading 😌😅 Oh I’ve also taken lotsa selfies but that’s not really productive either because I would never EVER share them with anyone because I’m really shy 😂

Currently reading 💕✨

8:30 AM • I’ve ACTUALLY been reading this morning! I know, shocking right !! 😮🤭 I’ve started reading in Pretty Guardian – Sailor Moon, Vol. 2 and I love it so far 😍 It’s so cute and interesting! It kind of reminds me of Wink Club which I loooved when I was little, so that’s really fun and nostalgic 😂

11:45 AM • Let me tell you something even more shocking! I’ve been reading all morning 😱 Yes, I have been reading in Little Women this morning and I’ve gotten really far 😍 I’m so happy that I finally got some time + motivation to read 🥰

3:00 PM • So, I don’t think I’ll get that much reading done for the rest of the day – not much updating will happen 🙈 But I’ve continued a little further in Sailor Moon!

Friday, May 22nd 2020

6:00 AM • First of all, sorry for not updating much yesterday and stopping abruptly, but I didn’t get to read for more than what I told you, so it kind of seemed pointless to write blah, blah, blah just for the purpose of writing 😂 However, now I’m going to continue reading in Sailor Moon – Pretty Guardian, Vol. 2 and hopefully finish it! 🙈

6:30 AM • Aaaaaaaaaand I finished it! It was super interesting and I would wish I had more volumes so I could continue reading 😭 Perhaps my library has some I can borrow? I’ll check it out because I need more 😍

8:18 AM • I’ve been reading in I Believe in a Thing Called Love by Maurene Goo this morning and I started at 59% now I’m at 74% so it’s going good! I’ve been reading the entire morning with a small break for going to the supermarket and I’m hoping to finish it today? I have five chapters left + an epilogue, so it wouldn’t be crazy to believe that I can do it! I’ll continue reading now and update you later 💕✨

8:49 AM • I continued reading actually and now I’m well into chapter 21 !! I think I’m going to take a break from reading now, just to rest my eyes, move around a bit and such and then continue soon again!

11:30 AM • I’m just back from after a short trip into the city, and now I’ll hopefully, perhaps, maybe get some reading done? However, I won’t read if I’m not in the mood – I’ve been thiiiis close to falling into a reading slump this month, and I don’t want to! (obviously…), so I try not to pressure myself too much 🧡

3:30 PM • This afternoon, I’ve been watching two episodes of Mapp & Lucia and now I’m going to continue reading in I Believe In A Thing Called Love by Maurene Goo and finish it!

4:10 PM • Just finished it… oh, my it was so, so, so good! I’m totally in love !! 😍 If you’re a fan of K-dramas or cute, fluffy romance in general – you should definitely check this out! It was cute, fluffy and a whole story that made me feel like a marshmallow 🥰

normal people reading books: Oh, this is a cute story, I’m so happy for the characters!

me reading books: My, oh, my how cute they are my little fluffy marshmallow-people *swoon, swoon*

I Love Flirting GIF
Don’t even ask why I’m like this – not because I don’t want to tell you I just literally don’t know ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

5:00 PM • I have just started listening to the audiobook of the German version of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone – so far enjoying it!

6:30 PM • I’m so happy that I’ve finished reading two books today !! that I’ll reward myself with watching Harry Potter and the prisoner of Azkaban tonight 😍

I hope you enjoyed the GIFs – wait of course you did 😜

9:30 PM • I forgot to write the blog post that was going up today 🤭 so, right now I’m debating whether I should write it and then just post it, like tomorrow, or if I should just drop it? I might write it, just so I’ll feel productive – somehow, I’m better at writing blog posts in the evening, so I’m aiming for writing two tonight! Crazy, I know, I’ll update you on how it goes 🌟

10:03 PM • Half an hour later, and I’ve finished writing the blog post that should have been up today, so now it’ll only get a 24-hour delay! Now, I’ll try and start writing a blog post that, *crossing fingers*, will be going up Sunday. See you later 🤞🤞🤞

11:04 PM • An hour later, a blog post written and scheduled later! Since I last updated you I’ve written a blog post for Sunday and created a loose schedule with blog post ideas for the rest of May + June !! I fell productive, which is really nice, but I better head off to bed soon, so I’ll be fresh for tomorrow.

Saturday, May 23rd 2020

00:09 AM • Uhm… so I said I would go to bed like an hour ago? Well that didn’t happen 😂 But don’t worry! It’s not because I’ve been scrolling on my phone – no, I’ve been reading! 😍 I’ve started reading in Komi Can’t Communicate, Vol 2 and so far it’s just as enjoyable as the first volume! I’ve read 77 pages of it so far and now I’ll ACTUALLY be going to bed 😴

7:10 AM • I woke up now, so I got 7 hours of sleep!! 😱 Now I’m going to shoot some photos for Bookstagram, so I finally can post 😬 See you later!!!

8:00 AM • I managed to take about 11 different “poses” (I don’t know if it’s legal to use the word in that sense but I don’t care 😝) for the books and then I will edit them later today! For now, I’m going to have some toasted bread 🍞 and orange juice 🍹 for breakfast 😋

9:30 AM • I’ve finished eating breakfast, taken a shower + washed my hair 🧖‍♀️ and now I’m going to bake a cake – is there a limit to how many cakes I can bake? Apparently not, but don’t worry, I do share it with my family, I’m not that evil 😈😇!!

11:00 AM • I’ve finished baking the cake and it looks really delicious so that’s exciting! Right now, I’m once again playing games on my phone -oopsiiiii 😝 – however, I will be editing the photos I shot earlier now!

12:30 PM • Just ate lunch and now I’ll be watching two episodes of Mapp and Lucia 😍 plus eat a piece of the cake I baked earlier 🍰

2:58 PM • cake time!

My delicious cake 🤪

4:00 PM • Right now I’m tidying up because I’m so amazing 😉 🧹 I will probably continue until about 6 PM, then have some dinner and then continue if I’m not finished! I’m also going to listen to the soundtrack of El Dorado, because I need some Elton John right now 😍🎼

7:20 PM • Now I’m taking a break from tidying up and organising with a film! I’m going to watch Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire 😁 It’s like I watch more films this week than reading 🤨

Sunday, May 24th 2020

I’m so sorry but I forgot to about you at all here Sunday! 🤦‍♀️ Basically, I didn’t do that much but I read some chapters in Little Women by Louisa May Alcott and got to part II! And I finished reading Komi Can’t Communicate, Vol. 2 🤓 I also watched Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix because apparently I’ve gotten into a Harry Potter mood 😂

And that’s a wrap for this week! Conclusion: I watch more films than I read books and I have too much fun using GIFs 😂 Let’s hope I get some more reading done next week! 😝

My Goodreads Reading Goal 2020 – a midwayish update 🌼

Sunday, May 24th: My Goodreads Reading Goal 2020 – a midwayish update 🌼

Hello, Guten Tag, Bonjour, Hola, Zdravstvuyte, Nǐn hǎo!

please, please, please don’t ask me why I wrote that – it looks super cringey but whatever 😳

Today, we’re going to be doing something very exciting! I’m going to update you all on my Goodreads Reading goal for 2020 !! As we’re soon halfway through the year – how though, how? – I’m going to share with you how my reading so far this year has been going!

If you don’t know what the Goodreads Reading Challenge is, I’ll let you in on the tea 😉: Goodreads is a website, where you can track books: what you’ve read, reviews, what your friends have read etc. Every year you can choose to set a reading challenge for yourself. You write how many books you want to read that year e.g. 30, and then every time you’ve read a book that year, the number will update, so it’ll tell you how many books you’ve read, if you’re behind on your schedule and so on.

Now this, can both be amazing and frustrating – considering how good you’re doing! But don’t worry, it’s not a contest, nothing happens if you do or don’t reach your number and you can change it throughout the year. So basically, it’s all just for fun 👍

Sorry for the super long intro, now I’ll give you my update!

In 2020, I set my goal to 52 books, so I want to read 52 books in 2020. This is because there’s approx. 52 weeks in 2020 (actually there’s 53, but 52 is an even number + I think I calculated wrongly when I set the goal to 52), and to me it seems reasonable, that I should be able to read about one book every week in 2020.

I’m not the kind of person that always reads the same amount of books, actually it differs a lot. In 2019, I read 35 books, 52 in 2018 and 55 in 2017 (FYI I didn’t keep a record of my reading before 2017, thus the missing numbers).

So far this year, I’ve read 38 books, so I’m already 73% through the books I have to read to reach my goal and I’ve already surpassed last year’s total read of books! According to Goodreads, I’m 18 books ahead of schedule – that’s pretty awesome I think 🥰

Goodreads also tells me that I’ve read 9,787 pages so far this year – so I’m soon reaching 10,000 pages! Perhaps I’ll be able to reach that in May?

I know that the quality is better than the quantity – especially when we talk about books! – nevertheless, I really find it interesting with all of these statistics! Just remember that reading should never become a chore and you should read whatever you want, whenever you want and how much you want!

I hope you found this post interesting! I, for sure found it interesting to write. Have you set any reading/book related goals in 2020? Let’s talk down below!

Review of ‘The Tales of Beedle the Bard’ by J. K. Rowling

Read from 3rd of May to 11th of May, 2020

1st note: This was supposed to come up yesterday, alas I am an idiot and forgot to write the post! So here it is, my thoughts on The Tales of Beedle the Bard by J. K. Rowling !!

2nd note: I actually thought I had read this before, but as I started reading the stories – I realised that I had never read them before! Therefore, this isn’t a reread but a first time read – even though it was published over 10 years ago

Without further nonsense, let’s get into it ! 😄

The Tales of Beedle the Bard is a short story collection with fairy tales by J. K. Rowling, published in late 2008 by Bloomsbury. It’s a book with a little more than 100 pages, of which some are illustrated.

Goodreads blurb:

The Tales of Beedle the Bard contains five richly diverse fairy tales, each with its own magical character, that will variously bring delight, laughter and the thrill of mortal peril.

Additional notes for each story penned by Professor Albus Dumbledore will be enjoyed by Muggles and wizards alike, as the Professor muses on the morals illuminated by the tales, and reveals snippets of information about life at Hogwarts.

A uniquely magical volume, with illustrations by the author, J. K. Rowling, that will be treasured for years to come.

My review:

This book was very interesting and even though it makes more sense if you’ve actually read the Harry Potter books, it is a short story collection of independent fairy tales, that you could pick up at any time!

Each fairy tale tells a moral with its enchanted language and bubbling stories filled to the brim with magic. After each story, we a presented with a commentary on the story from the late Headmaster of Hogwarts, Albus Dumbledore.

Every story is captivating and magical, just like the beloved fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm and therefore, this book could be picked up independently from the Harry Potter series. As I’ve grown older, I see what problematic things the Harry Potter series has done and its lack of diversity, and therefore I fully understand if you don’t like them or don’t want to pick them up. They were a part of my childhood, but that doesn’t mean that you should read them if you don’t want to. That said, if you’re interested in magic, witches, wizards and fairy tales, this might be a book you’d like because it’s so different from the Harry Potter books. Except from the commentary by Albus Dumbledore – parts you could skip if you’d like to – it represents a different magical world to us, than the one we’re used to.

This volume contains five wizarding fairy tales: The Wizard and the Hopping Pot, The Fountain of Fair Fortune, The Warlock’s Hairy Heart, Babbity Rabbitty and Her Cackling Stump, The Tale of the Three Brothers.

That’s it for today! First of all; I’m so sorry for posting a day late ! second of all; have you read this book? Did you enjoy it? Let’s talk down below 💕💕💕

10 books I want to have read this time, next year

Wednesday, May 20th 2020: 10 books I want to have read this time next year

I thought this would be a fun thing to do, so today I’ll be sharing 10 books I want to have read this time, next year, so that is the 20th of May 2021. I will then be writing a post the same time next year and see if I’ve actually read the books.

Without further ado, let’s get into it! 🥰

Få Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda af Becky Albertalli som ...
  1. Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli

I have seen so, so many people talk about this book and I think it looks super cute! Hopefully, I will have read it in a year! I also really want to read the book which I can do as soon as I’ve read the book! I’ve seen several of this author’s books that I really want to read, I just haven’t gotten around to it yet 🙈

Få Monster, She Wrote af Lisa Kroeger som Hardback bog på engelsk

2. Monster, She Wrote: The Women Who Pioneered Horror and Speculative Fiction by Lisa Kröger and Melanie R. Anderson

This is a nonfiction, feminist book about women authors who wrote horror books and

such, and honestly I haven’t heard much of it, but it looks super, super cool! I really hope to read this sometime soon, it just looks so informative and empowering 😍

3. One Day by David Nicholls

Få One Day af David Nicholls som e-bog i ePub format på engelsk ...

I mostly want to read this because there’s a movie with Anne Hathaway in the leading role and since I try to read the book before watching the movie, I really want to read this book! I don’t know that much about the story, but the overall concept sounds fun!

4. The Devil Wears Prada by Lauren Weisberger

The Devil Wears Prada: A Novel - Kindle edition by Weisberger ...

I LOOOOVE the movie to this book, so obviously I want to check the book out! My sister has read it and says it’s kind of different from the movie, but I still think it’ll be interesting to read!

Either way, even if they’re not alike I can separate them and still like the movie for the movie plot and the book for the book plot.

5. Dracula by Bram Stoker

Få Dracula af Bram Stoker som Hardback bog på engelsk - 9780241256596

I have never read any horror books but I want to so I thought, why not try and read this classic! I think it’s going to be very interesting if I do pick this up as my first horror read as I tend to like classics. I also think vampires are kind of cool – even though I’ve never read a vampire book – so it’s definitely going to be interesting!

6. The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde

MPHONLINE | The Picture of Dorian Gray (Arcturus)

The reasons why I really want to read this book is 1) because it’s a classic and I enjoy classics and want to read more and 2) I think it’s a really cool concept! From what I’ve heard about this book it involves a picture that ages instead of the person and something about vanity and such – that is very interesting.

7. The Importance of Being Earnest and Other Plays by Oscar Wilde

The Importance of Being Earnest and Other Plays (Vintage Classics ...

I watched a movie adaption of the play The Importance of Being Earnest, I think it was Colin Firth and I found it really funny! Even though I’m pretty sure it was made loosely from the plot of the play, I still believe it could be interesting to read + I enjoy plays

8. All Quiet on the Western Front by Erich Maria Remarque

All Quiet on the Western Front af Erich Maria Remarque som bog

There is actually a little more random reason why I want to read this book! It is because

my library has been doing some to-go bags of books due to the lockdown, where you pick some genres and the librarians pick some books and then you pick up the bag of books outside the library. Anyways, in one of these book bags, the librarians had picked All Quiet on the Western Front and since it’s a classic (that I had never heard about) I think it would be great if I have read it in 12 months!

9. Mythos + Heroes by Stephen Fry

Review: Stephen Fry's 'Mythos' and 'Heroes' | The Nerd Daily

I’m counting these together, as they’re part of a series 😄 I’ve been gifted both of these books and since I like Stephen Fry’s writing style and Greek mythologies, it’s due time that I’ll read these!

10. 1984 by George Orwell

CONTRA FATUM: 1984 af George Orwell

Reasons why I want to read this: 1) It’s a classic 2) It’s a DYSTOPIAN [sorry, but I hype for dystopian books] 3) It’s been recommended to me by a friend.

It sounds really interesting and I hope to read it soon!

That’s a wrap for today! Are there any of these books you’ve read or want to read? What are some books you hope to have read in 12 months? Let’s chat down below!

Desert-A-Thon + Because We Can Readathon • WRAP UP

This week I participating in two readathons: Desert-A-Thon and Because We Can Readathon! Today I will share with you how it went 😉

Desert-A-Thon Wrap Up

Desertathon was originally held from the 4th of May to the 10th of May but then it was extended to the 17th of May. A descision I was incredibly grateful for, because else, I would never have been able to finish my TBR! The prompts for the readathon were:

🔲 Read a book with a warm word in the title
🔲 Read a book with a flower on the cover
🔲 Read a book with monsters
🔲 Read a book with a red cover
🔲 Read a desert vibe book

Fortunately, for this readathon you were allowed to double up on prompts, so you didn’t have to read five books if you didn’t have the time!

✅ Pretty Guardian – Sailor Moon, Vol. 1

✅ Hakumei & Mikochi: Tiny Little Life in the Woods, Vol. 1

✅ Hakumei & Mikochi: Tiny Little Life in the Woods, Vol. 2

✅ A Bride Story, Vol. 1

  4. Read an author’s first book.
  5. Read a book by a new-to-you author.
  6. Read a book with the number ‘one’ or the word ‘first’ in the title.
  7. Read a book that has its first birthday in 2020 (released in 2019).

Likewise, in this readathon it was allowed to double up on books, so a total of seven books read in the span of one week, wasn’t a must!

Third Week of May: a “VLOG”

Monday, May 18th 2020: Third week of May Update

If you didn’t see it, last week I started doing a reading “vlog”, a post where I basically put on small updates about reading and such, just like a reading vlog, just written instead 😄

I hope you’ll enjoy! 🤞

Monday, May 11th 2020

8:59 AM • Good morning, good morning everyone! So, a weekly “vlog” from last week didn’t come up because I forgot to update that much and it ended up very boring 😂🙈 but I will try harder this week! Right now I’m about to have online classes which I will be having from 9-10 AM and then later on the day from 12:30-1:15 PM. So, see you later, hopefully with a reading update! 🤣

10:19 AM • Hello, hello 👋 Now I’ve finished my first online classes of the day + found out that I also have a meeting at 1:30 PM! Right now I’m trying to figure out what to do with my Instagram theme because I have lost the beautiful map I use as a background 🙈 I know, stupid. But since I don’t think I’ll find it anytime soon, I better figure out a new theme 🤣 Apart from that, I’m planning to do some homework, because I feel more motivated to read if I don’t have anything that I need to do. So I better start doing that! Also, please excuse me if I use “so” too much, I just don’t know what else to write 😅

I looooove when the sun is shining! It makes me so much more motivated + it’s a good start to the week 🥰

12:23 PM • A lil’ update! I have now been studying for my next online class, worked on my homework for my German class and had some lunch 😋 Now I’m getting ready for my next online class from 12:30-1:15 PM! 🥰 Afterwards, I will either be reading or writing blog posts, let’s see! 🧡✨

Uhmm, I actually did some studying! 😱🤣

1:16 PM • Just finished my online class for social studies, and now I’ve only got to get feedback for a presentation I did last week and then I have the rest of the day off!! 🥰 When school’s finished I will hopefully get back to outlining my WIP… I haven’t done it since last month 🙈🤣

My view right now 🧡

1:41 PM • Aaaaaand now, I have the rest of the day off! While the motivation is still there, I will try and outline my WIP till about 2 PM and then I will probably find something interesting? to do 😂 I will just share with you some of the things I want to accomplish before today is over, just to motivate myself a little (aka kick myself in the butt, cos’ if I don’t nothing will be done).

◻️ Outline my WIP ◻️ Read in The Tales of Beedle the Bard ◻️ Read in I Believe in a Thing Called Love ◻️ Work on school stuff ◻️ Write two blog posts ◻️ Take photos for Bookstagram ◻️ Write captions for posts

3:40 PM • Okayyyyyy, sooooo… let’s just say I did like work on something WIP-ish 🤣 Truth is I started sketching another story, so 🙈 Anyways, right now I’m watching a movie with my mother and sketching so let’s just ignore my duties, right? 🤨

7:07 PM • Hi again! I’ve just been out for a walk with my sister and now I’m going to eat cake 😍 do not ask why… there’s no reason 🤣 though the fact that cake tastes good is a good reason isn’t it? 😋

A little photo of my cake just to make you jealous 😏 but don’t worry! I’m sharing with my family, not eating it all by myself 😝

Tuesday, May 12th 2020

8:45 AM • Guten Tag, good morning, how are you all doing today? I don’t even know why I’m writing this, because you are like first going to see this next week, but whatever 🤷 Right now I’m waiting for my online class of the day to start (it’s from 9-9:45 AM) and then I’m going for a walk with my parents, which will be super nice! The weather is kind of gloomy but we’re brave 💪😂

10:00 • AM I’m now finished with my online class, which meeeeeeans that I have the rest of the day off! Right now I’m at the train as we’re taking farther away to go for a walk 😍

The clouds though 😍

11:31 AM • Even though the weather is kind of gloomy, the clouds are really beautiful and it’s really lovely to stretch one’s legs ⛅

3:40 PM • Hullo, hello, I’m now home and will be working on a PowerPoint presentation for my German class for a while before eating dinner 🥰 I’m also texting my best friend and we’re laughing really much, which is making me really happy! 😂

8:19 PM • I’m back! So far I’ve eaten dinner (I had pie so that was lovely 😍), I’ve been eaten leftover cake from yesterday 😋, I’ve watched a movie and now I better start practicing my presentation, which I plan to be doing to about 8:30 PM and then I will try and do some reading!

I’m so good at making PowerPoint presentations 😂

8:44 PM • I’ve been practicing a little on my presentation and now I will be reading in I Believe in a Thing Called Love but I should actually be writing a blog post that is supposed to come up at noon tomorrow but ya know… 🤷 wait, change of plans I’m going to play The Lego Pirates of Caribbean PC Game with my sister, because procrastination is the key! 🗝️

10:00 PM • I just finished “gaming” with my sister and that was super fun! Now I’m debating whether to write a blog post or read 🤔 Like, I haven’t read today and I really want to but on the other hand I haven’t written the blog post that is supposed to be up tomorrow noon 😅 and I also haven’t posted on my Bookstagram for a few days but my background is gone and I don’t know what to do 😭 Life is a struggle ugh… don’t worry though I’m pretty positive 😂

11:45 PM • I actually wrote that blog post for tomorrow! 🥳 I know, shocking right? 🤣 But I did it! Now I’m heading off to sleep 😴 Tomorrow I will be having an online class and I will try to finish all of my homework + perhaps write some blog posts? Let’s see 😂

Wednesday, May 13th 2020

8:40 AM • Good morning everyone, I hope the weather is just as beautiful where you are as it is by me! I’m preparing for an online meeting where I’m going to do a group presentation and then at 10:00 AM, I have an online English class and a test! See you later

11:11 AM • Hello, I’m back! All my online classes for the day are over, so now I have the day off. I’m thinking about working on my blog until lunch time, so write blog posts, reviews and such. Very interesting!

11:47 AM • So, you know that map I use as a photo background that I couldn’t seem to find? Yeah I found it… it was literally lying on my shelf between some notebooks and I swear I had already looked there but apparently not good enough 🤣🤣🤣

Yummy yummy

2:40 PM • Right now I’m watching The Hound of Baskervilles and eating cake 😍 Life is goooood 🥳🥳🥳

8:47 PM • Hi again! I’ve just finished my homework for social studies and now I’’ll probably work on a blog post? I don’t know 😂 I really want to read but at the same time I don’t want to read??? 😭 I’m confused 🥺

10:49 PM • I actually got some reading done! And I played cards with my mother 🥰 Now I’m about to head off for bed, see you tomorrow! 😴🌙✨

Thursday, May 14th 2020

6:26 AM • Good morning! Since I woke up early today (I actually woke up at 6:09 just have been scrolling on my phone since then 🤣) I will use that opportunity to get some reading done! See you later 💕

9:00 AM • So a little update ✨ I ended up starting and finishing the manga A Bride’s Story, Vol. 1 by Kaoru Mori and started vol. 2 of that manga. It’s really beautiful and I enjoy it very much!

9:50 AM • Hello, hello, right now I’m getting ready for an online mathematics class which will run from 10 AM to about 12 🥰 Afterwards, I will be lunching with my family and then I will perhaps be watching a movie or something like that? Let’s see! 😂

12:30 PM • And now, I’ve eaten lunch and will now read a little in I Believe in a Thing Called Love by Maurene Goo 😍

2:00 PM • I’m watching some episodes of the old Sherlock Holmes TV-adaption from the 80s (the one starring Jeremy Brett) with my mother which is super cosy! We’ve just watched ‘The Final Problem’ and now we’ll watch ‘The Cardboard Box’ 👍

5:30 PM • I just finished reading A Bride’s Story, Vol. 2 by Kaoru Mori and it was really good! But now I crave all the other ten books in the series 🤣🤣🤣

7:30 PM • Waffles is one of the best things, especially with maple syrup… 😍 Sorry, that was the most random update, but I’m eating waffles with maple syrup right now so bear with me 😉

9:52 PM • Hello, there! So it’s nearly 10 PM and I should be writing the blog post that’s supposed to go up tomorrow but I’m pRoCrAsTiNaTiNg 😝

11:08 PM • I am awesome! No, really I must be, because I didn’t procrastinate! I wrote the blog post for tomorrow and wrote half of a blog post for May 20th. If that isn’t productive, I don’t know what is 😍😂 Now I will probably be heading off to bed. Heading off to bed probably means that I will be in bed at about 11:30 PM, but that’s fine! See you tomorrow 🌙😴

Friday, May 15th 2020

9:30 AM • I woke up at 8 AM and had toasted bread for breakfast 😍 Now I’m just fooling around until 10 AM where I have an online class meeting for I don’t know how long – teachers aren’t specific here 🤔 – and then I’ll find something to do afterwards.

10:30 AM • Apparently, we didn’t have that much to talk about at the meeting, so we’re already finished!

12:30 PM • I’ve just finished eating lunch and now I’ll continue working 👍

3:00 PM • Taking a break right now, drinking some tea! Today, has been pretty productive so far.

7:00 PM • Sorry, I haven’t been updating you all that much today, but I’ve been having my hands pretty full all day and therefore there wasn’t that many opportunities to snap some photos or read – please bear with me 🥰

10:00 PM • I have actually been reading! Like reading reading! Excuse my hype… 🤓 This evening I’ve watched the TV-episode The Speckled Band together with my mother and afterwards I’ve been reading in I Believe in a Thing Called Love. I think I will now continue on the blog post I started last night and hopefully finish it! 🤞 See you later! 💖

10:58 PM • I managed to finish the blog post! But now I’m torn between staying up and reading and going to bed… it’s so difficult to choose 👉👈🥺 I mean like, my reading schedule is down at this point, but still… I have to read 7 books this week to complete the readathons I’m participating in this week, but like there’s only two days left and to complete those 7 books I have to read 1,644 pages! And if we say that my average speed is one page per minute, I’ll need to read 27,4 hours to finish them! Sorry, for all the mathematics I’m just having a minor breakdown 😂 Especially, because 3 out of these 7 books, I’m not really in the mood for reading, so now I’m thinking about changing my TBR again, but because of all the readathons I’m particpating in, it’s all so big a puzzle… life is confusing, but I’ll return with an update once I’ve figured things out 😅😅😅

Saturday, May 16th 2020

Little quick readathon update before we go into my day! I figured out a way last night where I can actually finish all the prompts for the two readathons I’m participating in this week! Now I just have to finish reading I Believe In a Thing Called Love, Hakumei & Mikochi: Vol. 1, Hakumei & Mikochi: Vol. 2 and Komi Can’t Communicate: Vol. 1.

And I should be able to do that! I’m 43% through I Believe in A Thing Called Love and as the tree other books are mangas, I still have hope! 😍 I know one shouldn’t stress by reading and that’s also why I changed my TBR to books I actually was in the mood for, but I just really want to do my best following the prompts! 😂

Without further ado, let’s get into this day!

7:00 AM • I just woke up and now I’m going to start reading in the manga Pretty Guardian – Sailor Moon, Vol. 1, which I’m excited to start reading!

8:25 AM • I’ve now eaten some bread & jam for breakfast 🥰, so now we are going to do something! The goal for today is to paint the walls so let’s get into it!

11:30 AM • It’s now half past 11 and I think we’ve done a pretty good job so far at painting! When I say “we”, I mean that my mother has been painting the walls and I’ve been sitting on a stool, cheering her, reading a little in I Believe in a Thing Called Love, so yeah I’m super good at painting you see… or the cheering job… whatever 🙄🤷

Baking in the making

12:30 PM • Took a little break to eat lunch 🥪, but now it’s back to work! I’m going to do the dishes now and then bake a cake! I’m going to bake cinnamon star bread which tastes really good, so I’m excited 😋 Welcome to my baking adventure 😆

2:30 PM • Now it’s break time! We’re going to make some tea and watch two episodes of Sherlock Holmes: The Three Gables + The Problem of Thor Bridge 🕵️

5:30 PM • I just finished reading Pretty Guardian – Sailor Moon, Vol. 1 and it was really cute! I can definitely recommend it and I will continue the series as soon as possible! 😍

Just look how cute Komi Can’t Communicate is!

8:00 PM • Started reading in Komi Can’t Communicate, Vol. 1 and it’s really cute and I’m dying for these characters 🥺

9:00 PM • Haven’t been doing that much this evening, but I’ve been having a nice time with my family and now we’re about to watch a replacement show for the Eurovision Song Contest 2020, because it won’t be held this year. That’s going to be interesting to see, and we’ve got crisps ready!

11:00 PM • We just finished watching the show and it was pretty fun! Now I will probably not be doing that much… let’s see 😂

11:54 PM • I have not been doing a thing, but that’s nice too! I will hopefully go to bed soon!

Sunday, May 17th 2020

6:00 AM • I just woke up (no, I’m not crazy, I didn’t have an alarm on, I woke up naturally! – wait that just makes me more crazy 😜) and now I’m going to read! I’m picking up Hakumei & Mikochi: Tiny Little Life in the Woods, Vol. 1 and if possible continue on to volume 2! See you later 💖

8:30 AM • Now I’m eating toasted bread with jam + tea for breakfast which is quite lovely 🥰

10:00 AM • My mother is painting the walls right now and I’m “helping”. Which, actually, just means that I’m chatting with her and she’s doing the work 😂

1:10 PM • I have just been eating lunch and now I’ll play Lego: Lord of the Rings Video Game with my sister for a little while 😂🧡

Komi Can’t Communicate, Vol. 1

4:50 PM • Currently reading in Komi Can’t Communicate, Vol. 1 and it’s really good so far!

9:30 PM • Since I gave you the last update, I’ve finished reading Komi Can’t Communicate, Vol. 1, eaten dinner and playing games on my phone 🤷 I won’t really do that much for the rest of the evening, perhaps read a little, and then make an early night out of it, so I’m fresh for a new week to start tomorrow!

That’s all for the third week of May! I hope you enjoyed it and is looking forward to another “vlog” next week! How was your reading this week? Any interesting reads? Let’s chat down below!

Review of ‘Dragons in a Bag’ by Zetta Elliott

Read from 3rd of May to 9th of May, 2020

Today, I will share my thoughts on this super cute middle grade book Dragons in a Bag by Zetta Elliott published in October 2018 by Random House. This book is 160 pages long AND it includes illustrations, so that is super, super cool! 😍

Goodreads blurb:

When Jaxon is sent to spend the day with a mean old lady his mother calls Ma, he finds out she’s not his grandmother–but she is a witch! She needs his help delivering baby dragons to a magical world where they’ll be safe. There are two rules when it comes to the dragons: don’t let them out of the bag, and don’t feed them anything sweet. Before he knows it, Jax and his friends Vikram and Kavita have broken both rules! Will Jax get the baby dragons delivered safe and sound? Or will they be lost in Brooklyn forever?

My review:

Ting object | Dragons in a bag | eReolen

This was a super cute middle grade book filled with magic, dragons and family

relationships, spiced with beautiful illustrations to keep the reader hooked! The characters are well-crafted and the relationships as true as if the people were someone you knew. Dragons in a Bag is a book that I cannot only recommend to children but also to adults as it tells are well-plotted story but furthermore a diverse children’s book and we definitely need more of these!

Our author, Zetta Elliott, writes a magical, whimsical, mystical and charming read which you will not be able to keep your hands off once you’ve started it! You cannot dislike any of the characters once you’ve started it, as they charm you into the story in such a true and cute way.

We need more diverse books and this is one of the books that you should be reading if you’re looking for a diverse read! And honestly, why wouldn’t you? 😉

I will give this a solid 4 stars as it was definitely a book I can see myself reread and perhaps if I got my own children, would tell to them. 🥰

That’s a wrap for today! Have you read/heard about this book? What’s your thoughts on diverse children’s books?

Some of the Most Beautiful Book Covers I Own

Wednesday, May 13th 2020: Some of the Most Beautiful Book Covers I Own

As we are all living in a very confusing and anxious time right now, so I thought I would share some of the most beautiful books I own, as in beautiful book covers, I just thought I would share some love to all of these beautiful book covers out there 😝

Heartless by Marissa Meyer

Heartless by Marissa Meyer, Paperback | Barnes & Noble®

This book I read in April and I highly recommend it, if you liked Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Caroll, as it’s a retelling, telling the story of the Queen of Hearts. It was a really well-written book with an amazing cast of characters and I cannot recommend it enough!

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs (series)

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children HC (2011 Quirk Books ...
This is an example of some of the photos inside

This book series are one of my favourite of all time, and even though the book covers are not that beautiful, they are more kind of weird, however they are very beautifully designed as there are photos of the peculiars inside which is a super cool concept!

Tales of the Peculiar by Ransom Riggs

Amazon.com: Tales of the Peculiar (9780399538537): Riggs, Ransom ...

This is a companion book to the Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, which is kind of like The Tales of Beedle the Bard by J. K. Rowling. It’s a collection of fairytales that you will also find mentioned in the book series. I enjoyed this book very much because 1) I loooove fairytales 2) I really loved the series 3) It reminded me of The Tales of Beedle the Bard – a very cool concept. However, even if you haven’t read the main series [which you totally should 😝] just look how beautiful this book cover is!!

The Harry Potter series by J. K. Rowling (house editions)

House Edition 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher Stones' announced ...

Most of you have probably read Harry Potter, and even if you haven’t that’s find you should totally read whatever you want to, but the new house editions that they’ve started making are soooooo beautiful 😍😍😍 You can get them in all the houses Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff and Rawenclaw and they are all amazing and with extra facts about the houses! I only have the Rawenclaw editions because that’s my house, but I will probably buy them all one day because I’m crazy… 🙃😂

Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen

Sense And Sensibility by Jane Austen - Penguin Books New Zealand

I really love how classics are always published in such cute editions that you can collect! That is also the case with Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen. I own the Penguin English Library edition and it’s so handsome and I enjoy the colours so much! I also read Sense and Sensibility in April and I loved Jane Austen’s voice shining through and her wit! I will surely be reading more Jane Austen books in the future.

Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them: The Original Screenplay by J. K. Rowling (and others)

Få Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. The Original ...

I know, that screenplays are not for everyone, but I enjoy reading them and that was also the case with this one! If you liked the film you will perhaps also enjoy this one and so you should check it out if you like. The cover of this screenplay is so beautifully decorated and I’m down for it!

The Waking Land by Callie Bates

Få The Waking Land af Callie Bates som Paperback bog på engelsk ...

This is a super underrated book and I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone else talk about it, but it’s definitely worth reading! Though I won’t say it doesn’t surprise me that it isn’t hyped up, because I never think it was when it was first published and the author hasn’t really written anything else outside this book and the other two books in the series. Actually, it wasn’t really on my radar either, but I won it in a giveaway and therefore read it. The cover is so beautiful and I really liked the book! It’s part of a trilogy but I have yet to read the remaining two books 🙊

The Tales of Beedle the Bard by J. K. Rowling

Få The Tales of Beedle the Bard af J. K. Rowling som Hardback bog ...

This is, like The Tales of the Peculiar, a companion book that is mentioned in the last book of the Harry Potter series, The Deathly Hallows, and it likewise features short fairytales. I have always thought that I have read this book, but as I started reading it this month I realised that I had never read it before! However, I finished it this Monday, so now I have read it and can definitely recommend it to you. The fairytales are really good and with morals and I would say that you can read it even if you haven’t read the Harry Potter series. Also, just look at this beauty of a cover!

That was all I had for you today! What are some books you really love the covers of? Would you like me to do a part two with some of the most beautiful book covers on my TBR shelf? Or where I do the same just try to find some more? Let’s chat down below!

FYI: There will not be a reading “vlog” up from last week (week 19) as I didn’t update that often and it ended up becoming quite boring! However, I will try harder this week and make sure to “spice it up” a little bit and make it interesting 😂 Reading wise, I didn’t get much reading done last week 🙈 which I of course hope to do better this week! I was participating in the DesertAThon last week and didn’t finish my TBR, but luckily the host, Esmay, decided to extend it to the 17th of May! But since I’m also participating in the Because We Can Readathon, I gotta read so much this week… oops 😆😆😆

Are you participating in the Because We Can Readathon? Have you read any of these books? What are your reading plans/or plans in general this week? Let’s chat below!

Mini reviews! The Phantom of the Opera and Heartless

Friday, May 8 2020: Mini reviews of Phantom of the Opera and Hearltess

RECENT READS: mini reviews

As I finished Heartless by Marissa Meyer and The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux on the 30th of April before officially started my blog, I thought I’d write some mini reviews of them here. Enjoy!

The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux: 9780451531872 ...

Gaston Leroux – The Phantom of the Opera

I really enjoyed Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical adaption of this book and therefore I was super excited to read this and it didn’t fail my expectations!

This book takes place in The Paris Opera House in the late 19th century telling the story of the Swedish soprano Christine Daaé who hears the magical story of the Angel of Music. But when Raoul, a boy from Christine’s childhood, appears, drama evolves. People are dying and the Opera Ghost is on everyone’s lips. When the famous soprano Daaé dissapears Raoul comes to search for her, but is it to late to save her from her fate?

This was a truly fascinating book, Leroux creates some amazingly flawed characters & it definitely ended up being one of my favourite books of the year so far.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 stars

CWs: Horror elements, neglection from parents, abduction, abuse, death

If you’ve read it, let’s do a would you rather:

  • Erik or Raoul
  • Charlotte or Christine
  • Music or Love
  • Keep the ending or write a new one

Marissa Meyer – Heartless

Få Heartless af Marissa Meyer som Paperback bog på engelsk ...

When I first read the story of Alice in Wonderland, I fell completely in love with it and when I found out that there was a book written from the Queen of Hearts’ perspective, I

just had to read it! Turn the time two years forward and I finally got around to reading it.

[Summary from Goodreads]: Catherine may be one of the most desired girls in Wonderland, and a favorite of the unmarried King of Hearts, but her interests lie elsewhere. A talented baker, all she wants is to open a shop with her best friend. But according to her mother, such a goal is unthinkable for the young woman who could be the next queen. Then Cath meets Jest, the handsome and mysterious court joker. For the first time, she feels the pull of true attraction. At the risk of offending the king and infuriating her parents, she and Jest enter into an intense, secret courtship. Cath is determined to define her own destiny and fall in love on her terms. But in a land thriving with magic, madness, and monsters, fate has other plans.

This book I also really enjoyed because it was both a good plot and well-written characters. It was a fresh take on the classic Alice in Wonderland story, and one I would recommend.

⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 stars
